Chinese ink & pigment painting on High quality Raw Xuan paper. With imprints of stone seal carved by myself which bears my name.
Signed and dated in Chinese.
I believe this subtle will add its mysterious oriental beauty while harmony, calmness and peace to any room in your home. This is NOT a print or a reproduction, this is my original artwork.
I have been painting the lotus leaves mainly with ink though in different layers of black. This one, I tried with different colours. I quite like the turquoise came out. I mixed Phthalo blue with leading green. This is most fun bit, playing with colours.
Inspiration: A friend sent me some Lotus flower photos from my hometown in China a couple of days ago. They had Yaji elegant gathering, playing Guqin, drinking plum wine & eating lotus petals.
It reminded me that my parents used to take us to visit our local lotus lake, which is 10miles long. On those hot summer days, we had picnic by the side and we children used to run around after the dragonflies, and watch the fish in the water.
