Jing will guide you through basic strokes and the formation of characters. This is a small group with a maximum of 8 people, allowing Jing to provide feedback during the Zoom workshop sessions and check your homework writing afterward.
This type of script is itself an art form; even a single character can be a piece of artwork. After learning each script, Jing will guide you to create your own calligraphy artwork.
By the end of the course, you will be able to create your own artwork using phrases from poems you like.
After completing this course, you will also find yourself equipped to share this ancient skill with others, such as your children, your local community, or teach others.
It's a 10-week course, but you will acquire a lifelong skill. It's suitable for beginners and intermediate levels.
My ten-week course will cover three basic Chinese calligraphy scripts as an introduction to Chinese calligraphy.
Seal script
The first one is Seal script, which runs from September 17th, to October 3rd.
Clerical script
The second one is Clerical script, scheduled from October 10th to October 31st.
Standard script
The third one is Standard script, taking place from November 7th to November 21st.
