Chinese brush painting created by me in Brighton, UK
This is one painting from my ink white and black series. Basically, the whole painting is created with ground ink. I used different grey shades for different part of the flower.
I have added a poem in cursive script. It reads "化作飛花滿枝林". The iris flowers are so beautiful, resembling butterflies landing on the tips of plants and trees.
Iris has a lot of meanings behind it in different cultures. The most common meanings include hope, wisdom, trust and valour, making it a great flower to have around the house.
The painting was showcased at The Collectivs in Lewes ArtWave in Lewes, East Sussex, and received a lot of attention.
Signed, dated and stamped with stone seals carved by me.
Painted in my home studio, Plum Blossom Ink Art.
Framed in wood:
Original painting size : 38cm x 38cm (15" x 16")
Framed size: 40.6cm x 40.6cm (16" x 16")
