A beautiful seasonal composition to welcome Chinese New Year.
Chinese daffodils (Narcissus), known asĀ ShuixianĀ (ę°“ä») or "water goddess," are beloved subjects in Chinese painting,Ā symbolising purity, good fortune, new beginnings, and scholarly virtue,, often painted in monochrome ink or with delicate colour washes on rice paper, especially around the New Year, with plum blossoms. They are depicted with their distinct white petals, yellow cups, and tall green leaves, often emerging from water or in pots, embodying elegance and spiritual purity.Ā
