Chinese brush painting (sumi-e), painted by myself in Brighton, UK.
This is a live demo painting when I was teaching my zoom students in April.
Peony has the symbols of female beauty, love, wealth and status in Chinese culture.
This is an original Chinese painting, or sumi-e art, depicting peonies. It is hand-painted on semi-treated single Xuan rice paper, using Chinese natural inks and mineral-based natural colors.
The calligraphy is in half cursive script.
It is signed, dated, and stamped with stone seals that I personally carved. Two seals bear my first name and surname.
Painted in my home studio in Fiveways, Brighton, Plum Blossom Ink Art.
The original painting has been backed with mulberry paper and then mounted.
Dimensions of the original art: 30cm x 40cm, or 12" x 16".
Dimensions in mounted : 38cm x 50cm, or 15" x 19.6".
Packaging: The artwork will be sent in a well-protected package.
