This delicate new piece, Chrysanthemum in Frost, captures the subtle beauty of frost-kissed chrysanthemums by a cottage fence, evoking a quiet warmth as winter settles in. Inspired by the Song dynasty verse Die Lian Hua (To the Tune of Butterfly Loves Flowers), I created a poem and added calligraphy to accompany the scene:
"Frost-touched chrysanthemums blush red, by the cottage fence,
Winter’s chill gathers.
Their shadows fall like paintings,
Soft fragrance to ease the long winter."
蝶戀花·霜染菊
霜染菊色紅，小院籬畔，初冬意漸濃。
花影斜映如畫中，幽香伴長冬。
